# MPSC Group-C Prelims Moved to 3 January 2027: What Changed, and the Rajyaseva Mains Timetable

MPSC has moved the Group-C Combined Prelims 2026 from 25 October 2026 to 3 January 2027. Why it moved, how the exam will be held, and the full State Services (Rajyaseva) Mains timetable from 3 October.

If you are preparing for the Maharashtra Group-C Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2026 (Advt. 017/2026) and still have 25 October circled, change it. MPSC issued a corrigendum on **9 September 2026** moving the exam to **3 January 2027**.

## What changed

| | Details |
| --- | --- |
| Earlier date | 25 October 2026 (fixed by the corrigendum of 16 July 2026) – cancelled |
| New date | 3 January 2027 |
| Mode | Offline, OMR |
| Centres | All district centres |

## Why MPSC moved it

The corrigendum gives several reasons: availability of exam centres, local conditions, the State Services Mains that runs through October, the festive season, other boards' exams and the legislature's winter session. Check the corrigendum on MPSC's advertisements page for the full wording.

## What to do with the extra ten weeks

An extra ten weeks helps most if you use them for revision and full-length OMR practice rather than starting new topics. Because the exam is offline, practise filling bubbles against the clock. It takes longer than clicking on a screen, and it is the kind of time loss people only notice in the exam hall.

## How the date has changed this year

| Corrigendum | Group-C Prelims date |
| --- | --- |
| 16 July 2026 | 25 October 2026 |
| 9 September 2026 | 3 January 2027 (current) |

To read the corrigendum yourself, open mpsc.gov.in, go to the Advertisements section and find Advt. 017/2026. The corrigenda are listed under the advertisement with their dates. Use the one dated 9 September 2026.

## A simple plan for the ten weeks

- **Weeks 1–4:** close the gaps in topics you have been avoiding. You now have time you did not have before.
- **Weeks 5–8:** one full-length paper a week, on a printed OMR sheet, at the exam's time of day.
- **Weeks 9–10:** revision only, plus current affairs from October to December, which the original date would not have covered.

If you are also writing the Rajyaseva Mains, the new date works in your favour: the Mains ends on 1 November, leaving about nine weeks to switch back to objective practice.
