- **Reach early:** at least 2 hours before the exam starts, for identity checks and frisking. The main gate closes 30 minutes before the exam starts, and no one is let in after the time printed on the admit card.
- **Carry:** the admit card (all pages, printed on one side), a black or blue ball pen, and an original photo ID (Voter ID, Driving Licence, PAN card or Aadhaar). Without the original ID you will not be let in.
- **Dress:** light-coloured half-sleeve clothes and chappals. Black, dark blue, dark green, purple, maroon, violet and dark chocolate colours are not allowed, nor is any ear jewellery. Candidates in religious or cultural dress must report earlier than the normal time and go through an extra security check; only then is such dress allowed. A candidate who does not follow the instructions will not be allowed to take the exam.
- **Not allowed:** any communication or electronic device, electronic watch, purse, pouch, scarf, belt or cap. You cannot leave the hall in the first or the last half hour.

## Posting, Service and Other Rules

- **Appointing authority:** the District Education Officer concerned. Appointments are made under the Chhattisgarh School Education Service (Educational and Administrative Cadre) Recruitment and Promotion Rules, 2026, and are subject to the final order of the Supreme Court in SLP(C) No. 019668/2022.
- **Selection list** is valid for 6 months. A **waiting list** of at least one and up to 25% of the advertised posts is made for each category, valid for 9 months from the selection list.
- **Probation:** 3 years, which may be extended by up to 1 year.
- **Certificates are not uploaded** with the form (caste, date of birth, domicile, qualification, disability, ex-servicemen). The appointing authority checks them. The result is made from what you fill in the form, and CGSSB makes no correction at any stage.
- Reserved-category candidates must give a permanent caste certificate from the competent authority. Married SC/ST women need a caste certificate showing their father's name. Without the caste certificate, a candidate loses the age relaxation and the reservation. Employees of government, corporations, boards, banks, private bodies or universities must give an NOC from their employer.
- Women's reservation is 30%, horizontal and division-wise; subject to the rules, widows and divorced women get preference. Women's and PwD posts are for Chhattisgarh local residents, and ex-servicemen posts only for Chhattisgarh's ex-servicemen.
- If the appointing authority finds at any stage of selection, even after the selection list is sent, that you gave false information or that your documents have any discrepancy, you will be disqualified and your selection or appointment will be ended.
- **Not eligible:** a man with more than one living wife, or a woman married to a man who already has a living wife (the Government may exempt for special reasons); anyone convicted of an offence against women (if such a case is pending, the appointment is kept pending until it is decided); anyone married before the minimum legal age of marriage. You must also be found mentally and physically fit in the medical exam.
- Candidates who got age relaxation as government servants and resign from service after applying are not eligible; if their service is cut (retrenched) after applying, they stay eligible. Departmental candidates need the appointing authority's prior permission. The age limits are not relaxed in any other case.
- No one without an admit card is allowed into the exam. The appointing authority's decision on eligibility is final.
- If you are found ineligible even after the result, or any information you gave is wrong, your candidature, selection or appointment can be cancelled. Filling the form or sitting the exam does not by itself make you eligible.
- Seeking support for your candidature by any means, impersonation, forged documents, unfair means, or breaking the mobile-phone ban at the centre can cancel your candidature, besides criminal prosecution.
