# RRC NWR Act Apprentice Recruitment 2026 (Notice 04/2026): Apply Online 23 October to 22 November

## Overview

The Railway Recruitment Cell of North Western Railway (RRC NWR), Jaipur, is taking **online applications for Act Apprentice training** under the Apprentices Act 1961, for 2026-27, in the workshops and units of North Western Railway. This is **Engagement of Apprentices Notice No. 04/2026 (NWR/AA)**, re-issued as a **revised notification dated 21 October 2026**. Applications are open **from 23 October 2026 to 22 November 2026 (till 23:59 hrs)**.

There is **no written exam**: the merit list is the simple average of your Class 10 percentage (minimum 50% aggregate) and your ITI marks in the trade, prepared division/unit-wise, trade-wise and community-wise. You can choose **only one unit**: DRM Office Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur or Jodhpur, B.T.C. Carriage Ajmer, B.T.C. LOCO Ajmer, Carriage Workshop Bikaner or Carriage Workshop Jodhpur.

**Revised notice:** RRC says the notice first issued on 1 October 2026 was cancelled after a partial change in the requisition, and the revised notice of 21 October 2026 is the one that counts. An earlier RRC notice (7 October 2026) had postponed the online start that was first set for 7 October.

**How many slots?** The opening paragraph of the revised notice still says applications are invited "against 2008 slots", but its unit-wise tables add up to **2,234** (Ajmer 488, Bikaner 482, Jaipur 549, Jodhpur 445, B.T.C. Carriage Ajmer 73 + 28, B.T.C. LOCO Ajmer 69, Carriage Workshop Bikaner 33, Carriage Workshop Jodhpur 67). RRC has not explained the difference, so we show the numbers for each unit and trade exactly as printed. The notice also says the slots are provisional and may increase or decrease.

## Selection Process

1. **Merit list** — Simple average of the Class 10 percentage (all subjects counted) and the ITI marks in the apprenticeship trade (from the provisional or final certificate). Prepared division/unit-wise, trade-wise and community-wise; no centralised merit list.
2. **Tie-break** — Equal marks: the older candidate first; same date of birth: the one who passed Class 10 earlier.
3. **Document verification and medical** — Held by the opted division/unit. Bring original certificates and a medical certificate in the Annexure-IV format signed by a Government Gazetted doctor not below Assistant Surgeon rank.

## How to Apply

1. **Open the application portal** — Use the "click here to submit online application" link on RRC Jaipur's notifications page (www.rrcjaipur.in), which opens rrcactapp.in.
2. **Register** — Choose New Registration and fill in your details exactly as in your Class 10 certificate (name, father's name, date of birth). Keep your 12-digit Aadhaar number, an active mobile number and email ID ready.
3. **Choose one unit and your trade** — Check the slots for your ITI trade in that unit first; nothing can be changed after final submission.
4. **Upload photo and signature** — Colour photo 3.5 cm × 3.5 cm, not older than three months, JPG/JPEG, 100 DPI, 20–70 KB. Signature: 3.5 cm × 2.5 cm in the notice (the portal's How to Apply page says 3.5 cm × 3.5 cm), JPG/JPEG, 100 DPI, 20–30 KB.
5. **Pay the fee** — ₹100 online (nil for SC/ST, PwBD and women). If money is deducted but the form does not download, use the "Verify Payment" button. Print and keep the e-receipt; transaction charges, if any, are yours.
6. **Log in again later** — Use Applicant Login on rrcactapp.in (Select Login Option: "By Email Id & Password" or "By Email Id & Date of Birth"; "Reset Password?" if you forget it) to log in again, for example to complete the fee payment if the online transaction did not go through.
7. **Print the application** — Keep the printout and Registration Number; the printout is needed at document verification. You need not send any printout or certificate to RRC by post.

## Training, stipend and other conditions

- Training period and stipend are as per extant rules and Railway Board directives; the notice does not give an amount.
- No hostel accommodation; selected candidates make their own arrangements.
- Before training starts, the candidate (or the guardian of a minor) signs a Contract of Apprenticeship with the employer.
- Apprenticeship gives no right to a Railway job afterwards; the employer is not obliged to offer employment.
- No TA/DA is paid for document verification.
- Request to change the division, unit or trade after selection will not be considered.

## Medical standards (Annexure-IV)

- Minimum height 137 cm, weight 25.4 kg, chest expansion not less than 3.8 cm. A candidate below these standards may still be engaged in a trade if a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon (Gazetted) certifies in writing that they are physically fit for it.
- Colour vision: not required.
- Candidates with vision in one eye can train, except in seventeen trades listed in Annexure-IV.
- The full standards (eyes, ears, blood pressure and other systems) are in the Annexure-IV certificate format in the notification PDF.

## Help desk

- Helpline on the application portal: +91-9929595937 (Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM). The notice says it is not available on Sundays and holidays, and the last date, 22 November 2026, is a Sunday.
