## Category-wise Vacancies

The tables give each category's posts and how they are split among general, women (general), widow and divorcee posts, with the ex-servicemen posts of the current year. Backlog rows are SC/ST posts carried over from earlier years. PwBD (a) blind / low vision, (b) deaf / hard of hearing, (c) locomotor disability and the related categories, (d) autism, specific learning disability, mental illness and multiple disabilities are shown as a / b / c / d below each table. The advertisement also prints ex-servicemen posts carried forward from earlier years; three of those cells in the Secondary Education Scheduled Area tables do not match the printed totals, so we have left that column out. Check the [official advertisement](https://aijobalert.com/documents/rssb/rssb-computer-instructor-advt-07-2026-22052026-77f18354.pdf) for it.

All 32 posts are in **Udaipur**: backlog ST 5 and current 27 (UR 14, SC 1, ST 12).

## Amended Advertisement (28 October 2026): BCI Scheduled Area Backlog

On **28 October 2026** RSSB issued an **amended advertisement** (संशोधित विज्ञप्ति). It does one thing: the original advertisement showed the SC and ST **backlog** posts of **Basic Computer Instructor, Scheduled Area (Secondary Education Department, Bikaner)** without splitting them between men and women, so the board has re-issued that classification. The total posts stay 322 Senior and 3,629 Basic Computer Instructor, the district backlog totals are the same as in the advertisement, and the notice says the other conditions of the advertisement remain unchanged.

- M.Sc. in Computer Science (CS) / Information Technology (IT);
- Master in Computer Application (MCA) / 'B' Level / 'C' Level;
- any equivalent or higher qualification recognised by the Government.

##### Basic Computer Instructor (बेसिक कम्प्यूटर अनुदेशक)

Any one of:

- Graduate and 'A' Level / PGDCA (minimum one year);
- B.E. / B.Tech. in Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), Electronics & Communications Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronic Instrumentation & Control (EIC) or Telecommunications & Instrumentation (TIE);

- any equivalent or higher qualification recognised by the Government.

##### For both posts

- Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.
- **Final-year candidates** could apply, but must have acquired the qualification by the date of this recruitment's exam. Those who got it after the exam date are not eligible.
- **Ex-servicemen:** as per the Personnel Department notification of 22 December 2020, a computer qualification prescribed in the service rules was not mandatory for ex-servicemen at the time of applying, but must be held before joining; in addition to the computer-literacy qualifications in the service rules, a minimum three-month certificate from a Government of India defence institution is also accepted as a computer qualification. The advertisement does not say this replaces the educational qualification listed for these posts. Ex-servicemen with a graduation-equivalent certificate after 15 years' service enter "Not Applicable" for the roll number and select Grade "N" in the OTR document details.
- Only the qualification filled in the online form / OTR is accepted. Eligibility is checked after the result, at document verification.

Qualifications are as per the Rajasthan Educational (State and Subordinate) Service (Amendment) Rules, 2021 (new "Group D", "Computer wing") and the Rajasthan Sanskrit Education State and Subordinate Service (School Branch) (Amendment) Rules.

## Age Limit and Relaxation

Age is counted on **1 January 2027**: you must be at least **18** and not yet **40** on that date.

**Extra 3 years, Secondary Education posts only:** the previous recruitment (2022) counted age on 1 January 2023 and none has been held since, so all applicants get 3 more years in the upper age for Secondary Education Department posts. Sanskrit Education posts get no extra relaxation, as this is their first recruitment.

| Candidates | Relaxation in upper age |
| --- | --- |
| SC / ST / OBC / MBC / EWS men of Rajasthan | 5 years |
| General category women | 5 years |
| SC / ST / OBC / MBC / EWS women of Rajasthan | 10 years |
| Persons with benchmark disability | 5 years, in addition to the category relaxation |
| Ex-servicemen | 15 years; if the age then exceeds 50, the upper limit is 50 (55 where lower-post experience is mandatory) |
| Widows and divorced women | No upper age limit (must be below the State retirement age) |
| Substantive employees of the Rajasthan Government, panchayat samitis, zila parishads and State PSUs / corporations | Upper age limit 40 years |
| Persons displaced from Pakistan in the 1971 Indo-Pak war | No age limit |
| NCC cadet instructors | Equal to the NCC service; treated as within age if the result exceeds the limit by not more than 3 years |
| Ex-prisoners | No upper limit if they held a substantive State post before conviction; otherwise relaxation equal to the imprisonment period |

Relaxations 1 to 10 in the advertisement are **non-cumulative**: only one can be used. The advertisement also has special rules for released Emergency / Short Service Commissioned Officers, persons temporarily appointed to a post of this service (2 chances), and a recruitment year in which no recruitment was held (up to 3 years).

## Salary and Probation

| Post | Pay scale |
| --- | --- |
| Senior Computer Instructor | Pay Matrix Level-10 (7th Pay Commission) |
| Basic Computer Instructor | Pay Matrix Level-8 (7th Pay Commission) |

- **Probation:** 2 years for all direct recruits. During probation you get a **fixed monthly remuneration** at State Government rates instead of the pay scale, with no HRA, DA, city compensatory allowance, special pay or other allowances.
- After probation (on completing training, passing the post-training exam, unquestioned integrity and fitness for confirmation), you get the minimum of the pay scale and allowances as per rules.
- The advertisement does not print rupee amounts for the fixed remuneration or the pay levels.
- Pension: the State Government pension scheme for new appointees applies.

## Application Fee Rules

RSSB charges a **one-time registration (OTR) fee** (Department of Personnel circular, 19 April 2023), paid once after SSO login. Candidates who had already paid the OTR fee paid nothing again.

- SC / ST / OBC / MBC / EWS candidates of other states and union territories are treated as General and pay the General fee.
- **Absence penalty:** a candidate absent in any two exams of RPSC, RSSB or other Rajasthan recruiting agencies in one financial year (1 April to 31 March) has the OTR blocked. It can be unblocked by paying ₹750 the first time; if blocked again in the same year, ₹1,500 (circular of 9 May 2025).
- Editing the application after the closing date costs ₹300; an answer-key objection costs ₹100 per question.

## Exam Pattern

- Candidates could take the question booklet and the carbon copy of the OMR sheet after the exam; the admit-card notice asks them to keep the carbon copy until the final result.
- If the exam is held in more than one phase, normalization applies (advertisement).
- Unfair means: RSSB's exam notices (20 July and 11 August 2026) warn that the Rajasthan Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act 2022 and (Amendment) Act 2023 provide for a fine of ₹10 lakh up to ₹10 crore and imprisonment from 10 years up to life, that strict legal action can be taken, and that such a candidate will also be debarred from further exams. The advertisement, citing the 2022 Act, gives up to 3 years' rigorous imprisonment and a minimum ₹1 lakh fine for an examinee involved in unfair means.

## Answer Key and Objections

RSSB uploaded the master question papers and primary answer keys on its website; the answer keys are listed on [rssb.rajasthan.gov.in/answerkeys](https://rssb.rajasthan.gov.in/answerkeys) under "Basic and Senior Computer Instructor" (18 September 2026).

## Reservation Rules

- **Vertical reservation, Non-Scheduled Area (Secondary Education):** EWS 10%, SC 16%, ST 12%, OBC 21%, MBC 5%, and Sahariya posts in Baran as shown in the tables.
- **Scheduled Area:** UR 50%, SC 5%, ST 45%. Only local residents of Rajasthan's Scheduled Area can apply for these posts; if selected in both areas, they state their preference at document verification.
- **Women:** 30% horizontal, category-wise; within it, 8% for widows and 2% for divorcees. Unfilled widow / divorcee posts go to the other, then to general women, then to men of the same category; they are not carried forward.
- **Ex-servicemen:** 12.5% category-wise, only for Rajasthan-domicile ex-servicemen; their dependants get no ex-servicemen reservation. Serving personnel retiring within one year could apply with a NOC.
- **Persons with disabilities:** 4% horizontal, 1% each for (a) blind / low vision, (b) deaf / hard of hearing, (c) locomotor disability and related categories, (d) autism, specific learning disability, mental illness and multiple disabilities; 40% or more disability. The UDID card is mandatory proof at document verification, and the disability certificate must be dated before the last date of application.
- **Outstanding sportspersons:** 2% of total vacancies, horizontal, for Rajasthan domicile; not carried forward.

- SC / ST / OBC / MBC / EWS candidates of other states are treated as General. A woman who became a Rajasthan domicile by marriage gets no SC / ST / OBC / MBC reservation (she can claim EWS on producing a Rajasthan domicile certificate and an EWS certificate). Sahariya candidates of Baran get their reservation only if they marked it in the category column.

## Documents for Verification

Admission to the exam was provisional: an admit card does not mean RSSB has accepted the candidature or the entries in the application. After the result, the concerned departments check eligibility and verify documents (circular of 22 August 2024). Keep these ready:

- Originals of educational and professional qualification, age, marital status, divorcee, ex-serviceman, sportsperson and disability documents.
- Category certificate issued on or before the last date of application (23 June 2026). Under the Personnel Department circular of 17 October 2022 quoted in the advertisement, a later certificate is accepted with an affidavit that you held that category on the last date (your appointment can be cancelled if this is false); the advertisement's document list (item xxi) also says certificates must be issued by the last date or the category benefit is not given. OBC / MBC certificate must be the latest one in the father's name, residence and income (not the husband's). The EWS income and asset certificate is valid for 1 year and can be relied on for up to 3 years with an affidavit.
- SC / ST / Sahariya married women: a caste certificate in the father's name and residence (one in the husband's name is not accepted).
- Ex-servicemen: retirement certificate or NOC issued by the competent authority by the last date of application. Outstanding sportspersons: sports certificate dated up to the last date of application.
- Widows: the husband's death certificate and a document linked to the husband's name (for example marriage certificate, Aadhaar, ration card, a child's birth certificate or voter ID). Divorcees: the court decree or order of divorce dated up to the last date of application. Persons with disabilities: UDID card.
- Married women: a declaration about their children (mandatory). Divorcees: an affidavit that they had not remarried, or were in the divorcee category, up to the last date of application.
- Character: a character certificate from the last educational institution (at least "good") and recent character certificates from two gazetted officers.
- Government or PSU employees: a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer.
- After selection: police verification of character and a medical fitness certificate from the CMHO or Medical Jurist of your district of residence. Marriage registration is mandatory for a government appointment.
