Applications are accepted only online; no postal form is accepted. The portal's General Links include the advertisement and the "Manual Of Online Application Form".
2. **Keep your details and scans ready** — The portal's manual asks for: qualification details from Class 10 onwards with percentage of marks or CGPA; a recent passport-size colour photograph on a white background, not older than 3 weeks, 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm, 100–200 KB, JPG/JPEG; your signature in black or blue ink, 80–150 KB, JPG/JPEG; and Class 10, Class 12 and graduation certificates, a caste/community certificate if you are in a reserved category, and a disability certificate if it applies, each 100–1000 KB in PDF/JPG/JPEG.
3. **Step I: Register** — Click "Click here" in front of "To Register", choose the post under "Post Name", fill your personal and contact details and verify your mobile number and e-mail with the OTPs. No other mode is accepted, and the fee is not refunded. The manual suggests keeping the payment transaction number safe for future use.
7. **Print your form and keep your application number** — After the fee is paid, press "PRINT" to print or save the submitted form as PDF. ## Exam pattern (scheme of the examination)

| Detail | Value |
| --- | --- |
| 1. Objective Type Test | 100 questions · 1½ hours · 100 marks · qualifying marks 50 — 25 General English, 25 General Knowledge, 25 provisions relating to the Judiciary in the Constitution of India, 15 Supreme Court Rules, 2013, and 10 Knowledge of Computer operation. No negative marking. |
| 2. Shorthand (English) Test | Dictation at 110 words per minute for 7 minutes · transcription 45 minutes · 100 marks · qualifying marks 50 — Mistakes permissible: 5% of the total words dictated. |
| 3. Typing Speed Test on Computer (English) | Minimum 40 w.p.m. · 10 minutes · 20 marks · qualifying marks 10 — Mistakes permissible: 3% of the total words typed. |
| 4. Interview | 30 marks · qualifying marks 15 — The advertisement gives no duration for the interview. |
| Total of the four stages (our sum) | 250 marks — The advertisement does not print a total; this is 100 + 100 + 20 + 30. |

## Shorthand test: marks by mistakes (method of gradation)

| Detail | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Without mistake | 100% |
| Up to 1% mistakes | 90% |
| Up to 2% mistakes | 80% |
| Up to 3% mistakes | 70% |
| Up to 4% mistakes | 60% |
| Up to 5% mistakes | 50% |

## How mistakes are counted

- Typing test: a wrong word or figure is a full mistake. Typing a capital letter for a small letter (or the other way round), and omitting, adding or substituting a punctuation mark, is a half mistake.
- Shorthand test: at most 5% of the total words dictated in the passage may be mistakes. A mistake of full stop (.) is a half mistake, and so is a capital letter typed for a small letter or the other way round.
