## 23 October 2026 Update: Category Shown as UR

After the result, some candidates asked SSC to clarify the categories shown for candidates in List-I and List-II. SSC's notice of 23 October 2026 explains that certain candidates who applied under the SC, ST, OBC, EWS or ESM categories qualified the CBE on the standards prescribed for Unreserved (UR) candidates, so their category was shown as UR in the lists of 12 October 2026.

SSC has now uploaded List-I (female) and List-II (male, other than SSF) again with both categories: the category under which the candidate applied and the category against which the candidate has been considered. All other terms and conditions of the CBE result remain unchanged.

Separately, the 12 October 2026 write-up says that 13,231 SC, ST and OBC candidates who had migrated from their State/UT of origin and did not opt for reservation of that State/UT were processed as UR candidates of their domicile State/UT. Of these, 246 have been provisionally shortlisted for PET/PST and are included in List-I or List-II.

## How SSC Prepared the Result

- CBE marks were normalised by the procedure SSC published, and the normalised scores plus NCC bonus marks were used to fix the cut-offs.
- Candidates from Naxal/Militancy affected areas were first considered against those areas' vacancies, then against general area vacancies; candidates from border areas first against border area vacancies, then general area. Candidates from both kinds of area: Naxal/Militancy area vacancies first, then border, then general area.
- Ties were broken in this order: Part-A marks (General Intelligence and Reasoning), Part-B marks (General Knowledge and General Awareness), Part-C marks (Elementary Mathematics), date of birth (older candidate higher), then alphabetical order of names.
- SSC examined candidates' representations on the Tentative Answer Keys and modified the keys wherever necessary; the Final Answer Keys were used to evaluate the Response Sheets.
- Where no candidates were available for a vacancy (none shortlisted at this stage), the category's minimum qualifying marks have been taken as the cut-off for subsequent stages, and such vacancies may get filled at later stages. Where fewer candidates than required were shortlisted, the category's minimum qualifying marks have been taken as the cut-off to shortlist for PET/PST.
- SSC explains that unfilled reserved-category vacancies can occur because candidates of these categories qualified at the UR cut-off in the CBE; at later stages they may qualify in their own vertical categories. The same principle applies to General, Border and Militancy/Naxal affected area vacancies within a State/UT.
- Results of 60 candidates (List-III) are withheld for various reasons, and of 3 more candidates because of court cases. Results of 88 debarred candidates (List-IV) were not processed.

## What Next: PET/PST and Marks

The PET/PST will be conducted by the CAPFs in due course. Call letters for shortlisted candidates will be issued by the Nodal CAPF, CRPF. SSC advises candidates to visit the CRPF website (rect.crpf.gov.in, as given in the SSC write-up) for further information. No PET/PST date has been announced in the SSC notices.
