EIL Recruitment 2026: 109 Associate Engineer and Associate Officer Posts, Fixed Term for Nigeria & Ethiopia Projects

Engineers India Limited (EIL), a Navratna PSU, has advertised 109 posts of Associate Engineer (Grades II, III and IV) and Associate Officer Grade II on a fixed term basis for the Dangote Fertiliser Projects in Nigeria and Ethiopia (Construction Division), under Advt. HRD/Rectt./Advt./2026-27/11. These are posts for experienced candidates: you need 5 to 14 years of construction experience in refinery, petrochemical, fertilizer, power or nuclear plant projects, depending on the post. Registration is online from 19 October 2026 (2:00 PM) to 2 November 2026 (2:00 PM), followed by a walk-in personal interview whose date EIL will send by email.

EIL has advertised 109 posts on a fixed term basis. Experience is the minimum post-qualification relevant experience, and the upper age limit is before the relaxations given below; both are counted as on 30 September 2026.

The advertisement gives one combined figure of 7 posts (UR 3, SC 1, ST 0, OBC 2, EWS 1) for Associate Officer Grade II across D1, D2 and D3; it does not split them by code. The category totals in the last row are our sum of the advertisement's figures. Reservation for persons with disabilities (PwD) is as per Government of India directives, and only candidates with 40% or more disability can apply under the PwD category.

Minimum marks in the qualification: 60% for engineering and 55% for other than engineering. There is no relaxation in the minimum marks for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates, and candidates with less than 60% (for example 59.99%) where 60% is required are not eligible.

• Welding / NDT: you need a B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) in Mechanical Engineering with at least 60% marks and an ASNT or ISNT Level-II certificate in RT/UT/DPT/MPT.
• The qualification must have been completed within the prescribed minimum course duration.
• AMIE: EIL's FAQ says candidates with B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) can only apply and that the AMIE qualification does not fulfil its requirement.
• Qualification, experience and upper age are all counted as on 30 September 2026.

Upper age limit as on 30 September 2026: 37 years for Associate Engineer Grade II and Associate Officer Grade II (D1, D2, D3), 41 years for Associate Engineer Grade III and 45 years for Associate Engineer Grade IV. The advertisement gives no minimum age.

The pay is a consolidated monthly remuneration, including HRA and PF, and depends on the post and the category of city (X, Y or Z) given in the advertisement.

Terms of the engagement:

• Purely fixed term: initially 2 years, extendable by 1 year if required or until the assignment is completed, whichever is earlier, subject to satisfactory performance, up to a maximum of 3 years from the date of joining. It ends automatically when the period expires, unless ended earlier.
• Posting is at EIL's foreign construction sites, but it can be anywhere in India or abroad as the organisation requires.
• You can join only if found medically fit.
• It is not a regular post, and working on fixed term gives no claim to regular appointment in EIL. EIL's FAQ adds that you will not be recruited on a regular pay scale after the fixed tenure.
• The requirement is urgent, so selected candidates must join at the earliest.

The advertisement is titled "Walk in Interview", but you must first register online. Only candidates who registered online and report with the printout bearing a valid registration number are considered.

• Where: EIL offices at Gurugram, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata (all post codes A, B, C and D).
• When: the exact date, time and venue are sent to your registered email. Be ready to attend at short notice. Report at 8:00 AM.
• On the interview day your application and certificates are screened first; only candidates who meet every eligibility condition go on to the personal interview.
• Interviews may go on until 8:00 PM and, if needed, continue the next day; you must arrange your own stay.
• You make your own travel and stay arrangements; no allowances are paid.

Bring these, with one set of self-attested photocopies:

1. 6 copies of your submitted online application form, each with a recent colour photograph affixed.
2. Originals of: a valid photo ID issued by the Government of India (Driving Licence, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID or Aadhaar Card); proof of date of birth (Matriculation / Class X certificate or birth certificate); certificates of educational qualifications (Class X, HSC, degree, post-graduation) with the mark sheets and passing certificates of all semesters/years.
3. Proof of the norms your university/institute uses to convert CGPA/OGPA/CPI or letter grade to percentage (see the table below if you cannot produce it).
4. Original experience certificates for every experience you declared, clearly showing date of joining, date of leaving and the nature of work. On demand, also documents such as the offer letter, confirmation order, pay slips, PF statement, ESI card or bank statement.
5. If you are working now: offer letter, confirmation order, pay slips, identity card, PF statement, ESI card, bank statement, etc.
6. If applicable, in the prescribed format from the competent authority: SC/ST certificate (original), valid OBC (NCL) certificate in the Government of India format (original), valid EWS certificate (original), disability certificate (original), and for Ex-Servicemen the discharge certificate, undertaking and proforma certificate.
7. A No Objection Certificate (original) if you work in or under a Central/State Government or autonomous body.

If any original document needed to prove eligibility is missing, you will not be considered further.

If you cannot produce your university's/institute's conversion norms at the interview, EIL will work out your percentage from this table to decide whether you can appear in the interview.

• One position only. If you apply more than once, only your latest application is kept and the older ones are rejected without notice.
• Your email ID must stay valid for at least 24 months; selection and all other messages are sent by email.
• Screening and selection go by the details in your online form. Wrong or false information disqualifies you, and your candidature can be cancelled at any stage if you do not meet the requirements.
• You can edit your application until registration closes by applying again for the same post with the same email ID.
• Do not post the application to EIL. If you did not take a printout, use the "Print Application" link against Advt. 2026-27/11 on the portal.
• Diploma after Class 10 without Class 12: fill your diploma details in the Sr. Secondary field as well as the Diploma field.
• Any change, clarification or corrigendum is published only on www.engineersindia.com; there is no separate press notice.
• EIL warns that fake interview calls are being sent by email by individuals and agencies. EIL says interview intimations are sent from its official email, that no agency or individual is hired by it for this purpose, and that it takes no responsibility for candidates who respond to such fictitious emails.
• Queries: email rectt@eil.co.in with the subject "2026-27/11". Queries sent to any other email ID are not answered.
• Court of jurisdiction for any dispute is Delhi. EIL may reject any application, or cancel the advertisement or the selection process, without giving reasons.
