The Railway Recruitment Boards will hold the first-stage Computer Based Test (CBT-I) under CEN 04/2026 on 27, 28 and 30 October 2026. This CEN covers various Junior Engineer posts, Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA). The dates come from the RRB notice of 16 September 2026, which calls them tentative. There is no exam on 29 October.
The Exam City & Date intimation opens about 10 days before your exam date. The e-call letter opens about 4 days before the date on that intimation. For 27 October candidates, that puts the city slip around 17 October and the e-call letter around 23 October.

You get 90 minutes, or 120 minutes if you are eligible for a scribe. One-third of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer. CBT-I is common to all posts under this CEN and is a screening stage. Your normalised score is used only to shortlist candidates for the second-stage CBT. The minimum marks to be eligible are 40% for UR and EWS, 30% for OBC (NCL) and SC, and 25% for ST.
