SSC has tentatively scheduled Junior Engineer Examination 2026 Paper-I for October/November 2026. Exact exam dates and the admit card release date have not been announced yet. Admission Certificates will be issued only on ssc.gov.in.
The Staff Selection Commission published the Notice of Junior Engineer Examination, 2026 on 2 September 2026. It covers Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and other listed streams) posts in central government organisations. It also covers Scientific Assistant posts in the India Meteorological Department. All posts are Group ‘B’ at Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400) of the pay matrix.
The notice gives October/November 2026 as the tentative schedule for Paper-I. SSC has not yet published an exam-date notice for JE 2026. The admit card date will follow that notice. On 24 September 2026, no JE 2026 date notice was on SSC’s notice board.
SSC does not send Admission Certificates by post or email for any stage. You will have to download yours from ssc.gov.in. For CGL 2026, SSC has made Admission Certificates available 2–3 days before each candidate’s exam date. The JE 2026 arrangement will be confirmed when SSC announces the schedule.

Paper-I lasts 2 hours, or 2 hours 40 minutes for candidates eligible for a scribe. Each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks. All questions are objective multiple-choice and set in Hindi and English.
