TRB Tamil Nadu declared the TNTET for Working Teachers 2026 result and final answer key on 12 October 2026. Check marks with your Roll Number or Application Number and Date of Birth; Tamil Nadu candidates also see Qualified / Not Qualified status. TRB posted the Tamil Nadu certificates link on 15 October 2026; the Puducherry School Education Department issues Puducherry certificates.
The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), Tamil Nadu declared the result of the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) for Working Teachers – 2026 on 12 October 2026, along with the final answer key. The test was held under Notification No. 01/2026 dated 13 February 2026, for teachers already working in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry schools. TRB’s Tamil press note on the result calls it “Special TNTET-1”.
TRB has published the marks of every candidate who appeared, with the final answer key for the Master Question Paper (Questions 1 to 150). Tamil Nadu candidates see their final key, marks and qualifying status, “Qualified” (Pass) or “Not Qualified” (Fail), on their dashboards. For Puducherry candidates, TRB publishes only the marks and final key; the Puducherry School Education Department issues their certificates.
Paper I was held on 4 July 2026 and Paper II on 5 July 2026, as OMR-based tests of 150 questions each. TRB’s result notice and press note give no count of qualified candidates and no pass percentage, so this page gives none.

TRB has two result pages, one for Tamil Nadu and one for Puducherry. Both ask for the same details.
You can also log in to your candidate dashboard: TRB’s candidate login on trb1.ucanapply.com, linked from the TRB website. It asks for your Login ID and Password, and has a “Forgot your password” link. TRB’s result notice says Tamil Nadu candidates can log in to their dashboards to see the final key, marks and qualifying status, and Puducherry candidates the final key and marks; it does not name the login page.
The result page says every result and certificate carries a QR code; scan it to confirm the document is genuine.
A Tamil Nadu candidate who scores the minimum mark below in a paper gets the TNTET Eligibility Certificate for that paper. Each paper is out of 150 marks. TRB evaluated the OMR sheets on the final answer key and these minimum marks, set by G.O.(Ms) No. 23 dated 28 January 2026 and G.O.(Ms) No. 46 dated 25 February 2026.
| Category | Paper I | Paper II |
|---|---|---|
| General | 60% or 90 marks | 60% or 90 marks |
| BC, BC(M), MBC/DNC | 50% or 75 marks | 50% or 75 marks |
| SC, SC(A), ST, PwD | 40% or 60 marks | 40% or 60 marks |
PwD candidates: the original notification put persons with disabilities at 50% (75 marks). Addendum 01A/2026 lowered it to 40% (60 marks) for both papers under G.O.(Ms) No. 46. The table above is the revised one.
These are qualifying marks for the eligibility certificate, not a cut-off for jobs. The notification says a pass cannot be claimed as a right to employment, as TNTET is only an eligibility test.
Tamil Nadu: TRB’s result notice says qualified candidates may download their Teacher Eligibility Certificate from their dashboards after 5 days. TRB’s Tamil press note says the e-certificate can be downloaded from www.trb.tn.gov.in within 5 days. On 15 October 2026 TRB posted “CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE TNTET CERTIFICATES (TAMIL NADU)”, which opens the Tamil Nadu result page (official TRB website), now headed “Candidate Login”, where you enter your Roll Number / Application Number and Date of Birth. TRB has published no other download instructions.
Puducherry: TRB issues no certificate to Puducherry candidates. Under the Puducherry School Education Department’s D.O. letter No. M-17076(76)/33/2026-Academic Wing-JD/DSE dated 11 May 2026, TRB has published only marks and the final key for them. The certificate for qualified Puducherry candidates will be issued by the Government of Puducherry School Education Department. TRB has not said when.
The notification says the certificate is awarded on the details given in the online application. If any claim there is later found to be incorrect, the certificate becomes invalid. None of TRB’s documents states how long the certificate is valid.
TRB’s press notes on the exam days give these figures:
| Paper | Date | Centres | Permitted to write | Appeared |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paper I | 4 July 2026 | 222 | 61,386 | 59,535 |
| Paper II | 5 July 2026 | 613 | 1,67,743 | 1,60,929 |
TRB’s press note on the tentative answer key (15 July 2026) gives slightly different appeared figures: 59,534 for Paper I and 1,60,925 for Paper II. TRB has not explained the difference, and none of its notes splits the figures between Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Each paper had 150 multiple choice questions for 150 marks, in 3 hours, on OMR sheets. Paper I is for Secondary Grade Teachers, Primary School Headmasters and equivalent posts. Paper II is for BT Assistants, Middle School Headmasters and equivalent posts.
TRB published the tentative answer key with an online Objection Tracker on 15 July 2026. Objections were accepted only through the tracker in the candidate dashboard, from 15 July to 22 July 2026 (5:30 PM), against the Master Question Paper, with proof from standard books only. TRB’s result notice says all objections received in time were examined by subject experts and the final key was finalised by them; their decision is final.
TRB has not said how many objections it received or which answers changed in the final key. The final key is on your dashboard.
The test was for working teachers appointed on or before 1 September 2025 as Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT), BT Assistants and other equivalent cadre teachers, on time-scale, consolidated or part-time pay, in Government, Government-aided and recognised private schools in Tamil Nadu (Notification No. 01/2026).
Puducherry: Addendum 01B/2026 (12 May 2026) let eligible teachers working in Government, Government-aided and private schools of the Union Territory of Puducherry take Paper I and Paper II under the same notification. They applied separately from 13 May to 27 May 2026.
Did not qualify? TRB’s result notice and press note say nothing about a re-exam, training or any other step for teachers who did not qualify. We will update this page if TRB issues a notice.

Out of 150 in each paper: General 60% (90 marks); BC, BC(M) and MBC/DNC 50% (75 marks); SC, SC(A), ST and PwD 40% (60 marks). The PwD mark was lowered from 50% to 40% by Addendum 01A/2026.
TRB’s result notice said qualified Tamil Nadu candidates could download their Teacher Eligibility Certificate after 5 days. On 15 October 2026 TRB posted “CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE TNTET CERTIFICATES (TAMIL NADU)”, linked to the Tamil Nadu result page (trb.tn.gov.in/results/result/1). For Puducherry, the Government of Puducherry School Education Department will issue the certificate.
TRB has not published the number of qualified candidates or a pass percentage in its result notice or press note. Its exam-day press notes say 59,535 candidates appeared for Paper I and 1,60,929 for Paper II.
For Tamil Nadu candidates, TRB shows “Not Qualified” (Fail) when you did not reach the qualifying mark for your category in that paper. Puducherry candidates see only their marks and the final key, with no qualifying status. TRB’s result notice says nothing about a re-exam or other steps for teachers who did not qualify.
No. This result is for the TNTET for Working Teachers – 2026 under Notification No. 01/2026, held for teachers appointed on or before 1 September 2025 in Tamil Nadu schools, and for working teachers in Puducherry under Addendum 01B/2026.
TRB says subject experts examined all objections received in time and finalised the final answer key, and their decision is final. It has not said which answers changed. The final key is on your dashboard.
