Official RPSC scheme and syllabus dated 9 January 2026 for the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive Exam (RAS) 2026. The Prelims (150 questions, 200 marks, 1/3 negative marking) is proposed for 6 December 2026, and there are four 200-mark Mains papers.
The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) published the scheme and syllabus for the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive Examination 2026 (commonly called RAS) on 9 January 2026. The recruitment advertisement, Advt. No. 02/2026-27, followed on 27 May 2026.
RPSC’s press note of 23 September 2026 says the Prelims is proposed for 6 December 2026. Candidates who have applied can correct their online form from 24 to 30 September 2026 through the SSO portal (correction fee ₹500), or withdraw it in the same window.

RPSC admits about 15 times the number of vacancies to the Mains. All four papers are descriptive, 200 marks each and 3 hours each, with brief, medium, long-answer and descriptive questions.

RPSC notes that this unit-wise split is for guidance only and may vary. In Paper IV, General English is divided into grammar and usage (20), comprehension, translation and precis (30), and composition and letter writing (20). Hindi and English are at senior secondary level.
