The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) is recruiting 131 Staff Nurses (Class-3) for the office of the Director, Employees' State Insurance Scheme (ESIS), under the Health and Family Welfare Department. Apply online on ojas.gujarat.gov.in by 12 October 2026, 11:59 PM, and pay the exam fee by 15 October 2026, 11:59 PM. An application without the fee is rejected.
You need a B.Sc. (Nursing) or a GNM diploma recognised by the Gujarat Nursing Council or the Indian Nursing Council, and must be 18 to 35 years old on 12 October 2026 (women and reserved categories get extra years). The pay is ₹40,800 a month fixed for the first five years, after which you move to the regular Level-5 scale (₹29,200–92,300) if your service is satisfactory.
Selection is through an MCQ exam with two papers: Nursing (100 marks) and Gujarati language (100 marks). You must score at least 40% in each paper. GSSSB has not announced the exam date yet.

The Nursing paper follows the Indian Nursing Council syllabus. Page 21 of the advertisement lists the topics under each part, for example infection control, biomedical waste, first aid, pharmacology, antenatal care, care of the newborn, family planning and epidemiology. GSSSB will publish the detailed Gujarati (Paper-II) syllabus on its website later.
Candidates with a benchmark disability, or a temporary disability that makes writing difficult, can ask for a scribe or compensatory time (20 minutes per hour). Once GSSSB issues the call-letter notice, download the call letter, fill the form on GSSSB's divyang candidates page and email it with the required certificates to so-kh1-gsssb@gujarat.gov.in at least two days before the exam. Late requests are not considered. Candidates with both arms affected (40% or more) need only the disability certificate. Others also need Appendix-I, a certificate of difficulty in writing from the Chief Medical Officer, Civil Surgeon or Medical Superintendent.
